Ok so all was going really well with lightening up and I was losing weight easily mostly because I was eating what I wanted but slowly and mindfully.  Then along came Xmas and I eat more and drank more and exercise went out the window.  I knew I had gained some weight but was surprised when I got on the scales to see I gained 3 kilos!!!  Now I really want to beat myself up about it (honestly I already am...)  Help!!!!!  What should I do?

Hi Elaine.   Believe me - you are not alone!  I gained 2 kilos over Christmas and now have a lovely muffin top :)  I started to feel like I may beat myself up about it too....but then I decided to look in the mirror and embrace my new weight for what it represents which is how much of a fantastic time I had over Christmas with my friends and family wining and dining and eating much more chocolate than normal.  If I had the choice over I would still indulge as I did because it brought me so much joy (as well as the 2 extra kilos)!   I absolutely intend to shape up again over the next month or two but I refuse to make it about feeling bad about myself.  Instead it is about eating well again most of the time and doing more of the exercise I love mostly for the pleasure of it.  And this way I will enjoy the process.  Hope this helps....

What a fantastic way to approach those couple of extra kilos that I too put on over Christmas, by remembering what a great time we had with our family and friends.
I have never really approached it from that view before and it makes it so much easier to move back into regular life.

Well I have applied the coach's recommendation and started to view my extra 3 kilos as a sign of how much fun I had over Christmas.  This really helped me to stop beating myself up and relax about it.  And guess what??  I have lost 2 kilos already!   It wasn't that hard I just start making better choices. So thanks coach!!!!
